Returning to the capital after an eight month hiatus, Louche are in town, hooking up with regular London party starters Jaunt in a secret location, to present the underground legend that is Omar S.In the game for over ten years now, Alex Omar Smith has become another addition to the great techno legacy of his hometown Detroit, up there with the likes of Derrick May, Carl Craig and Jeff Mills. His record label FXHE has been his main outlet for releasing music over the years; pressing vinyl in small quantities with handwritten labels at first, before his sound eventually reached specialist record shops in the U.K. and Germany. By 2009 he had gathered a huge cult following, but it was his mix for the Fabric series that catapulted Omar into the European scene. His music is raw, unfiltered and anthemic, washed with sweeping melodies and harmonies, laid over crisp analog drum patterns, moving your heartstrings as much as your feet. His recent album 'It can be done but only I can do it' received critical acclaim right across the board, and contains so many tunes that we've been hammering for the last few months. Without doubt one of the best DJ's we've witnessed, we really can't wait to see him again!Already having brought Prosumer, Shaun Reeves, Soulphiction & Arto Mwambe to London within the last year, add Visionquest, Fred P, Zip and Soul Clap to their regular home The Mint Club in Leeds, Louche continue to go from strength to strength. Their fresh and exiting booking policy, world renowned podcast series, and faithful fun-loving crowd remain as strong as ever, and tonight marks a wonderful four years for Louche.Staying true to their roots, focusing in on bringing the underground to the main stage, the last year alone has seen the hugely successful launch of both Circo Loco and We Love.. brands in the North, monthly parties for those that know in the South, resident slots at both Space and the Zoo Project, Ibiza and a snowballing Podcast series with over 60,000 listeners. Despite all of this, it is and will remain, very much about the party for the Jaunt boys and their huge extended family. The party is being held in an East London location, with Funktion 1 sound and an intimate and cosy atmosphere, keep in touch with us to find out the location nearer the time. Two birthday parties in one soundtracked by Omar S.
