Make Me presents...
DJ Qu (Strength Music, Deconstruct), Anthony Parasole (The Corner, Deconstruct), Rubin, Rupes & Nic Baird (Make Me), Dan Beaven.Saturday30 Mar 201322:00 - 06:00Hoxton BasementPhotos5 years ago we threw a party in the basement of a pub in Bethnal Green. It was a bunch of mates playing for their mates, inspired by god knows how many nights of music, hedonism and general antics at clubs around the world in the 10 years before. We didn’t have any grand plans, we didn’t know where it was going. We just wanted to have a good time and listen to good music. And somehow 5 years down the road we’re still here, still rocking basements, still playing the tunes we love to the people who want to hear it.This party is a landmark for us, and to celebrate it we’ve been lucky enough to line up two of the world's finest underground club DJs to come and play at one of our favourite venues. The ‘dark house don’ DJ Qu has been on a roll over the past few years, and this will be his first London appearance in 2013. A simply outstanding selector, his sets dig into the deepest recesses of house and techno – dark, hypnotic, bass driven workouts that are focused solely on moving the dancefloor. With a lethaly consistent run of releases on labels such as Underground Quality, Deconstruct and his own Strength Music; as well as a bag of tunes unlike anyone else this is guaranteed to be pure drama from start to finish.Backing up Qu on the night is another New York native who we’ve been trying to bring over for at least the past 2 years - Anthony Parasole. As founder of Deconstruct Recordings and The Corner you know this guy has taste. But he also brings a tough physicality and attitude to his DJ sets that veer more towards techno than many of his NYC contemporaries. Tough, rugged, jackin beats that have been doing the business at clubs around the world over the past 6 months including Concrete in Paris, the MDR showcase at Fabric and the 'Boom Room' at Berghain. We are super excited to finally have him gracing the decks at Make Me.At least some of the session will be back to back, and you can expect at least 4 hours of prime time American house and techno delivered by two of the best in the game.Support from Rubin, Rupes and Nic Baird dropping classics from the past 5 years of Make Me and Dan Beaven.See you on the dancefloor!
